Hi everyone, it's kennedythelogofan and this is my first post here. Today's topic is children's TV, specifically my country America.

Last year in my country three kids channels closed down; Smile TV, a Christian kids channel, Universal Kids, formally PBS Kids Sprout and finally HBO Family (the American version). I was sad to see HBO Family go. I don't understand why they have to shut it down now since streaming is taking over TV channels.

I will be sad if Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel (the American one) will shut down. It's not official yet but it may come to that, especially Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon.

Here the former kids TV channels I remember before the shutdown of their channels:

  • Nickelodeon Games and Sports (aka Nickelodeon GAS), current name TeenNick

  • PBS Kids Sprout

  • HBO Family

  • Noggin, current name Nick Jr.

  • Discovery kids (aka The Hub), current name Discovery Family

I hope you guys like the post.
