5Select to rebrand as "5Drama" in the coming weeks

UPDATE: Paramount has now confirmed that the new channel will launch on 21st October
Eagle-eyed viewers of Virgin Media may have noticed that 5Select is looking a little different...
While not yet officially confirmed by Paramount, various sources have revealed that the 5Select is set to rebrand as 5Drama within the next few weeks.
The channel was originally launched in 2016 as "My5", which in turn replaced the Channel 5 +24 timeshift service, sharing its name with the then recently launched streaming service. A planned relaunch as "5Prime" in 2017 failed, and it was eventually renamed 5Select, which has remained until this point. The channel is a "shop window service" showcasing the best of the Channel 5 portfolio.
If the relaunch indeed goes ahead, it will be the first rebrand of the 5 portfolio since the Viacom-CBS merger(s) and the first since the relaunch as simply "5" last year. The logo shown here is from the test website, although other versions can be found on the Virgin Media Go website and app.

Wow! Another rebrand from 5! I remember My5 TV really well as well as 5Select. Gonna keep an eye on the 5 app
