VIDEO: NHK News refresh - 9th/10th August 2026

NHK News has issued a surprise refresh for all of its studios. The graphics themselves remain unchanged, as is the 845 regional news. The refresh was presumably designed by NHK's in-house design agency.

All of the major news shows on NHK have been given a new, near identical set design with a slightly re-orchestrated version of the existing music. While "News 7" has relatively minor changes, "Good Morning Japan" and "News Watch 9" have brand new colour schemes, swapping the pink and green for blue. The generic studio now includes a small view into the newsroom/gallery for the first time.
