Well this is unexpected isn't it!? A very warm welcome to CabCon.TV, your new destination for TV and radio archive recordings and news!

You may remember back in May, my YouTube channel was terminated due to copyright strikes which I believe were given unfairly. I protested this with the claimant however my efforts have been to no avail, hence the long break. I'll be honest...I haven't missed recording CBeebies videos! But I have really missed being with all of you and sharing information which you enjoy and find interesting. I have a unique perspective of the industry (as you can see on the about page!) and I've still got so much left to share, so the last few weeks and months have made me think about how I can do this.

As much as I'm grateful to YouTube for being my host for the last 10 years, working with them can be quite troublesome!!! Having to comply with laws that don't even apply in my country, the constant and looming threat of getting punished by the powers that be, I could go on. And then there's the constant pandering to children with the aforementioned laws plus the relentless barrage of AI slop nowadays - the platform just doesn't feel as pleasant as it used to. It just feels like a money-grabbing exercise for Alphabet Inc. and its stakeholders that brings no real benefit to its users.

But...if you're running your own service, you have complete control over everything. You don't have to worry about getting copyright strikes or having to pander to American kids or AI slop or anything!! It's like making your own fruit smoothie or something, you know exactly what's in it and that it doesn't contain any naughty bits you have to declare on the packaging! In short; starting my own service is the best answer, so that's exactly what I'm doing.

It's at this point I shall thank Josh from Media Central UK. He's been my spokesperson while all this has been going on. And although we have had our disagreements in the past, I just cannot fault the support he has given me and I've been very lucky to have him. I'm sure you'll see him around on this site at some point...
